Sea Ice Training

Joe and I had to goto Sea Ice Training so we could learn how to safely travel on the ice. The training involved driving out the the edge of the winter ice and the purmanent ice self and drilling some holes the see how thick the ice is. For safe travel in any vehicle the ice needs to be at least 30" thick, they also told us how the cross crackes in the ice.

Here I am with a drill. I bits are 3 ft each and you can put as many as you have on it. Just don't drop the bit in water when taking the bits off because they will sink the sea floor! (That didn't happen to us.)The rest of the class was blah blah blah......

After all the talking Joe and I started having some fun with our camera's. Here I am looking like a bundled up geine coming out of a Joes water bottle. It was a tight fit but I made it.

Heres another of me jumping out of joes hand.

This is iceberg #B something I forgot. It is lock in sea ice now but who knows where it will go when the ice breaks up.
