Getting there! part 1

This adventure all started on Sept 26th with 2 days of orientation in Denver, CO then fly to Christchurch (aka chch), New Zealand via LA, and Sydney, AU.

This is the plane for the long gruelling 14hour ride.

I arrived in chch on Sept 30th and checked into my hotel. On Oct 1st we went to the CDC (clothing distribution center) to get all of our ECW (extreme cold weather) gear. I was on flight #2 of the season that was supposed to leave chch on Oct 2nd but due to bad weather on the Ice we were delayed. I had small paid vacation in chch and got to check out the surrounding area. One day Joe, Owen and I hired a car for a couple days. Luckily Joe has some experience driving on the wrong side of the road so he got to drive. Owen and I got to do the dumb tourist thing and take pictures of everything while Joe was driving slowly. We were “that car” nobody wanted to be behind. Here are some random pic's of NZ country side on the way to Arthur's Pass.
